This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bid Package for its construction project entitled, "Burns Harbor Breakwater Repair Project." PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract, the contractor will be required to perform construction services as follows. Repairs will be performed to the existing Burns Harbor North Breakwater rubblemound structure. Armor stone sized 11-20 tons each will be placed along the lake side of the breakwater to fill existing voids. Repairs will be performed to meet the design slopes of the breakwater, along approximately 2000' of the structure in various locations as needed. ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to SERVICE DISABLED VERTERAN OWNED - SMALL BUSINESS. The North American Industry System Classification Code is 237990, with a small business size standard in dollars of $36.5M. The magnitude of cost for construction is estimated between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The Solicitation package (Invitation for Bids - "IFB") will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. Once the package is released into advertisement at this website ("Federal Business Opportunities"), interested bidders may download the full package, includes: specification and drawings files. The Solicitation package is planned for advertisement on or about FEBRUARY 4, 2019, with bids due 30 calendar days following the issuance/release date of the Solicitation package.
