DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside for work consisting of furnishing all equipment, labor,materials, and transportation required for the fabrication and delivery of new Cheatham Lock hydraulic steel stackable welded truss stoplogs used to create a temporary damming surface across the lock chamber as described in the specifications and contract drawings. 2. TYPE OF CONTRACT: The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price supply contract. 3. BASIS FOR SELECTION OF AWARD: Award shall be made to the lowest priced offeror who is determined to be responsible. 4. PLACE OF DELIVERY: Cheatham Lock, 1799 Cheatham Dam Road, Ashland City, TN 37015 United States. 5. DELIVERY DATE: Base requirement - 450 calendar days after date of contract award. Option 1 – 120 calendar days after the option is awarded. Option 2 – 120 calendar days after the option is awarded. Option 3 – 120 calendar days after the option is awarded. Note: If one (1) or more options are exercised, the period of performance will only be extended by 120 days, thereby extending the period of performance to 570 days (450 days plus 120 days). 6. W912P522Q0014 PURPOSE: The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to issue a Request for Quote for structural fabrication of hydraulic steel structures called stoplogs, which are stackable welded truss structures used to create a temporary damming surface across the lock chamber. The RFQ is planned to include fabrication of up to 6 stoplogs (Base – 4 stoplogs, Option 1 – 1 stoplog, Option 2 – 1 stoplog), each approximately 110’ long and weighing approximately 80,000 pounds. After fabrication, the structures are required to be blasted to white metal (SSPC SP 5) and painted with the 3-A-Z vinyl paint system. Provision of one Chain Sling Assembly per stoplog is planned. The Chain Sling Assemblies are planned to be used to pick up and place the stoplogs. A prefabricated bridge is included as Option 3 in this contract. The bridge is planned to span the lock chamber directly upstream of where the stoplogs will be set to allow a forklift to cross the upstream end of the lock chamber. The items are to be delivered and unloaded at Cheatham Lock located in Ashland City, TN. This is a Pre-solicitation Notice. This Notice is being issued for planning and informational purposes only.
