The scope of this requirement includes the replacement of ten (10) spillway tainter gates and eleven (11) gate lifting machinery setups including, but not limited to, wire rope and drum setup, high and low-speed gear boxes, 10 hp electric motor, bull and pinion gears, and machinery base on each gate pier for the Wolf Creek Dam located on the Cumberland River near Jamestown, Kentucky in Russell County. The Wolf Creek Dam Spillway Gates and Machinery Replacement Contract will restore the dam to its full functionality as it was intended once built. The major features of this Contract include fabrication and installation of the new gates and lifting machinery equipment that is required to operate the gates. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $100,000,000 and $250,000,000. Description The scope of this requirement includes the fabrication and installation of ten (10) new spillway gates at Wolf Creek Dam, removal of the existing spillway tainter gates, and replacing the lifting machinery equipment required to operate the gates. The project area is located on the Cumberland River in the western part of Russell County, Kentucky. The major features of this requirement include the construction of new gates, the lifting machinery equipment required to operate the gates, and the installation itself. The earliest a gate can be decommissioned is July 1st of each year and the replacement gate must be able to hold back full lake levels by December 1st. The lake levels can rise quickly with a large rainfall event. To accomplish these major features, the scope will include, but not limited to, the following items: 1. Fabricate ten (10) new spillway tainter gates. 2. Remove and dispose of the existing spillway tainter gates, existing lifting equipment, and lifting equipment machinery base. 3.
