The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, anticipates soliciting a requirement for a firm fixed price services contract for gear/motor shaft and coupling alignment at Kentucky Lock, Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Kentucky Lock is a high lift navigation lock located at mile 22.4 on the Tennessee River in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Kentucky Lock is the most utilized Navigation Lock in the U.S. and the busiest in the Nashville District. Per year, the machinery is cycled in excess of 5,000 to 6,000 times, creating wear and tear on instrumental parts of the required equipment needed to operate the lock. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, material, and equipment necessary to inspect the couplings for the miter gate machinery, culvert valve machinery, and tow haulage machinery. The contractor shall also inspect all gearboxes through the inspection ports. The contractor shall measure and align the miter gate, culvert valve, and tow haulage machinery where necessary.
