Percy Priest Dam – Restricted Area Fence Replacement. This is a Pre-solicitation Notice. This Notice is being issued for planning and informational purposes only. The project will consist of the contractor supplying all labor, equipment, and materials to clear approximately an 8 foot wide by 2000 foot long path along a corridor determined by the USACE and construct an 8 foot high chain link fence. The location of the fence is starting at waters edge south of the JPP Resource Managers office and heading west and north along or near the USACE property boundary. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors. The type of set-aside decision to be issued will depend upon the responses to this sources sought. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. SCOPE OF WORK (SUBJECT TO CHANGE): The J. Percy Priest Resource Office requires FE5-84 security fence line, preventing public use. The extent of work covered under this effort includes removal of vegetation along predetermined path, installation of concrete embedded security fabric fence and incidental related work. Contractor will make every effort to stay along the predetermined fence path. Any field conditions which influence the fence path must be coordinated with the COR. The contractor must stay within 20 feet (+_) offset to clear any field obstructions. Contractor will ensure fence construction is at least 10ft from boundary line at any point. EXISTING WORK -In addition to FAR 52.236-9 Protection of Existing Vegetation, Structures, Equipment, Utilities, and Improvements: a. Remove or alter existing work in such a manner as to prevent injury or damage to any portions of the existing work which remain. b. Repair or replace portions of existing work which have been altered during construction operations to match existing or adjoining work. At the completion of operations, existing work to be in a condition equal to or better than that which existed before new work started. Official Solicitation is anticipated to be issued on or about 26 August 2020. Results of this sources-sought announcement will be used, in part, to determine the size and make-up of the industrial base for this type of item and the feasibility of a small business or socio-economic set aside for this project. All qualified contractors are encouraged to respond; lack of responses may jeopardize the project being set aside for small business.
