NCA Mountain Home Cemetery Improvement project is to build improvements within the 43 acres cemetery. The areas being worked on are focused in 4 specific locations as well as one project spanning the entire property. The existing administration building is to be demolished along with the nearby storage shed which currently stores the head stones. In place of the administration building, a new restroom building with informational kiosk for the cemetery will be constructed. The committal shelter will be modified to make it more ADA compliant with a turn out for vehicles and a walkway. The flag pole lights will be changed to LED fixtures. Select areas identified in the plans are to fog and sealed. The maintenance yard is being upgraded to include a full building to house a recirculating wash rack system, head stone storage, room for all land keeping equipment, covered area for heavy machinery, new covered bulk storage bins, relocated fuel tank from admin building, and dock for tractor-trailer delivery of head stones. An irrigation system for the original Mountain Home Cemetery area comprised of 43 acres. PURPOSE: The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) solicitation for a firm fixed price construction contract to provide improvements to the Mountain Home National Cemetery located in Johnson City, Tennessee. The project will occur in the older historical section of the cemetery and has the following scope: A. Demolish administration/maintenance building and wooden storage building. B. Install public restroom with electronic gravesite locator (kiosk) in the location of the demolished administration/ maintenance building. C. Construct equipment storage building with maintenance yard. D. Construct covered material storage bins at maintenance yard. E. Install irrigation system with booster pump. F. Repair and install roads, curbs, and gutters. G. Install sidewalk at committal shelter for handicap accessibility. H. Repair or install cut-ins at sections in cemetery for handicap accessibility. I. Replace flag pole lighting.
