PURPOSE: The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to issue an Request For Quote (RFQ) solicitation for a firm fixed price service contract to accomplish the following work a... PURPOSE: The Nashville District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to issue an Request For Quote (RFQ) solicitation for a firm fixed price service contract to accomplish the following work at Martin Fork Dam. The work covered by this contract consists of the vendor furnishing and delivering a Crawler Crane or equivalent, and also provide an operator. - The crane must be capable of handling a load of 12,000 pounds with a boom radius of 75 feet. - The total width of the crane to include outriggers shall not exceed 14 feet and 6 inches. - Preferably equipped with rubber tracks/pads/cleats. Must prevent damage to concrete surface of the bridge on Martins Fork Dam. The crane is to lift the sluice bulkhead from a storage slot and rotate the bulkhead for transport to the sluice gate slots. The bulkhead will then be placed into the sluice gate slots located approximately 144 feet away. The mobile crane meeting the above conditions must not exceed bridge loading capacities and overhead clearance to transport the machine from the rental location to the jobsite. The crane shall be equipped with an Anti-two-blocking device, so that the inspection team may safely use a U.S Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) provided personnel lift basket to access the three sluice tunnels located at the base of the dam. This is a Pre-solicitation Notice. This Notice is being issued for planning and informational purposes only. This notice is not a solicitation, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this notice, nor will the Government accept proposals as a result of this Notice. NAICS CODE AND SBA SIZE STANDARD: The anticipated NAICS code is 238990, All Other Specialty Trade Contractors with a small business size standard of $15 million. TYPE OF SET-ASIDE: 100% Small Business SOLICITATION RELEASE DATE: The anticipated release date for this solicitation is on or around Feb 4, 2019. SYSTEM FOR AWARD MANAGEMENT (SAM): Offerors must be successfully registered in the SAM, www.sam.gov, at time quote is received in order to receive a Government contract award. Offerors must have their representations and certifications available on-line in SAM or provide them with their quote in order to receive a Government contract award.
