Buffalo North Breakwater Repair. The identified repair options include a rubblemound overlay at a 1V:2H slope comprising of 5.3 to 11.9 ton armor stone, overlying 0.4 to 1.2 ton underlayer and 2 to 119 lb bedding for the southern reach of the repair and wrapping around the South Head (Station 0+00 to 6+90), 10.7 to 23.7 ton armor stone, overlying 0.7 to 2.4 ton underlayer and 4 to 237 lb bedding for the northern reach of the repair and wrapping around the North Head (Station 14+75 to 22+00). There’s a two stone width berm at the toe of the repair at varying elevations for the northern repair with a 1V:2H slope, a three stone width berm from Station 0+00 – 6+60 and wrapping around the South face of the structure with a 1V:1.5H slope. On the channel side of the structure, the berm widens to a 30 ft width at elevation -7 with a 1V:1.5H slope. Additionally, pre-cast concrete blocks presently in place to protect the damaged works at the South Head will be retrieved and placed in the three sections where the backwall of the structure has blown out. The overlay will restore the original structure crest elevation of +13.5 feet LWD.
