Synopsis: REPAIR HANGAR FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS - SOURCES SOUGHT. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential sources for this project including interested Small Business sources. This notice is for planning purposes only. All interested parties should respond. The South Dakota Air National Guard, Joe Foss Field ANG Base, Sioux Falls, SD has been tasked to solicit and award a project to include but not limited to furnishing all labor, equipment, tools, appliances, transportation, materials, and quality control reports required to perform modifications to Hangar Fire Suppression Systems. The work consists of three main items and multiple secondary items. The main items include reprogramming/reconfiguring the foam releasing panel, replacing the manual foam releasing stations and conduits, and installing Surge Protection Devices (SPD) (also referred to as TVSS). The secondary items include replacing heat detectors, providing insulation on the brass trim piping, providing HVAC in the foam rooms, providing required signage, and replacing non-brass trim piping. Proposed project will be a Firm Fixed Price contract. The type of solicitation issued will depend upon the responses to this synopsis. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of the Small Business Community to include Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to compete and perform a Firm Fixed Price Contract. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All interested concerns will provide this office a written notice by the response date stating their positive intention to submit a proposal as a prime contractor. This notification, which shall not exceed five typewritten pages, must include the following: 1) A positive statement of intent to bid as a prime contractor, 2) A completed and signed Sources Sought Information Request Form (attached to this posting), 3) A listing of comparable projects completed during the past three years, both for government and private industry. The type of project, dollar value, Contract number, location, and Point of Contact are to be included. Indicate if you were prime or subcontractor, and if subcontractor, provide the name and point of contact for the prime contractor. And, 4) A brief outline of resources, subcontractors, and key personnel that would be used to accomplish the contract. In the event adequate Small Business contractors are not available for adequate competition for this project, it may be advertised as unrestricted.
