SUBJECT: West Virginia National Guard Child Development Center Playground DISCUSSION/SUMMARY: Existing playground removal except swing set and shade structure in both areas. New playground installation for front and back playground area. FRONT PLAYGROUND AREA: Playground area currently contains 4 play structures and one shade structure (attachment a). Structure A, B and C must be removed and disposed of. Structure D and shade structure are still operational, contractor will paint and service structures so they can be kept. All safety rubber flooring throughout playground will be removed, disposed of, and replaced. Add to playground area minimum of 2 age appropriate (0-24 months) playground equipment pieces (the same or better than 1 and 2 on attachment D) that meet NAEYC, DoD, and State Licensing requirements (must include sensory, musical, and motor skills development aspects). All playground equipment and grounds must meet DoD Child Development Center and State licensing requirements for safety and educational standards. Dimensions found on attachment C. BACK PLAYGROUND AREA: Playground area currently contains 6 play structures and a shade structure (attachment b). Structure A, B, C, D, and E must be removed and disposed of. Structure F and shade structure are still operational, contractor will paint and service structures so they can be kept. All safety rubber flooring throughout playground will be removed, disposed of, and replaced. Add to playground area a minimum of 3 age appropriate (2-5 years) playground equipment pieces (the same or better than 3, 4 and 5 on attachment D) that meet NAEYC, DoD, and State Licensing requirements (must include sensory, musical, and motor skills development aspects). All playground equipment and grounds must meet DoD Child Development Center and State licensing requirements for safety and educational standards. Dimensions found on attachment C. CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS: Project start date to be determined (TBD). All equipment removed will be disposed of by contractor. Swing and shade structures on front and back playground will be refinished and serviced as needed to maintain and pass playground inspection. Contract will include long-term (no less than 15 years) warranty on equipment, poured surface, and work. ***Please see attached "SOW_working_2022 (002)" for above mentioned attachments A, B, C, & D***
