The Oklahoma Army National Guard has a requirement to provide meals to Soldiers during individual drill and annual training periods. Most often individual drill training periods are on weekends and include a lunch meal on Saturday and Sunday. The number of meals required can vary from 25 to 500 per meal. Annual training periods range in duration from two weeks to three weeks and general require both a breakfast and a dinner meal each day. The meal count for annual trainings and mobilizations can vary wildly from 50 to 1000 per meal depending on the size of the unit conducting the event. The majority of our annual training events are held at Camp Gruber (near Muscogee) and Camp Chaffee (Fort Smith, Arkansas) Individual Drill, Annual Training and other events are held at a variety of locations across the state of Oklahoma and Arkansas with the largest headcount requirements occurring in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas and the two major training sites at Camp Gruber and Camp Chaffee. Providing meals to soldiers in the non-metro areas has typically been a challenge that the Oklahoma National Guard needs particular help in conquering this challenge.
