This project is for repair to Building 873 Missile Maintenance Bay Roof includes but is not limited to: A. Contractor shall remove insulating soil layer from B873 roof assembly taking care not to damage walls, mechanical equipment, insulation, or any of the drainage components buried beneath. Drainage system components shall be supported / temporarily removed, as required to prevent damage. Excavated soil shall be stored on site at a location to be determined and covered with a tarp to protect from element and erosion. B. Contractor shall repair foam base flashing as required and prepare surfaces as required to receive new roofing system. C. Contractor shall install a reinforced sheet waterproofing membrane (i.e. EPDM, etc.) with a minimum thickness of 90 mills. Seams shall be fiber reinforced. Cant strips shall be installed in corners and flashing shall be installed as required. Water proof membrane shall be covered with a fully adhered protection board to protect membrane during back fill of insulating soil material. D. Contractor shall inspect, clean, repair and test roof drainage system components, as required. E. Following repair contractor shall complete a water test, and provide a report as proof that the Roofing assembly is preventing water from infiltrating the building. F. Contractor shall back fill B/873 Roof cavity with previously excavated soil. Prior to back fill removed material shall be inspected for rocks which may damage newly installed roof during backfill. If rocks are present the material shall be run through a screen to remove any rock larger than 2" in diameter. G. Contractor shall hydro seed roof with a TBD government approved, low maintenance, low growth, drought tolerant groundcover / turf.
