The Alabama National Guard (ALNG) Central Issue Facility (CIF) may have a requirement for the laundering (or drycleaning) of gear such as helmet covers, poncho liners, and 3-piece sleeping bag systems. The gear list may not be limited to these items. It is also possible that the gear list will be limited to fewer items. Quantities over time are not yet defined. Local launderers do not appear to possess the capability sought - to clean these types of items to a serviceable state so that they may be re-issued for use by other service members. We would like to discuss this potential requirement with industry members in order to ensure we are including the correct information in a solicitation that might result from the inquiry. If this moves forward, the ALNG might consider competing and establishing a BPA (Blanket Purchase Agreement) or other IDV to fulfill this requirement on a long term basis.
