Sources Sought Synopsis: This notice serves as a Sources Sought for the following requirement: The Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL), requires a High Frequency Acoustic Suspended Sediment Profiler. The supply required under this a High-Frequency Acoustic Instrument consisting of a suspended sediment profiler to be deployed in a laboratory flume to study fluid mud generation at the interface of water and gelled layer. Description of Instrument: AQUAscat 1000L or Equal salient characteristics. The following salient characteristics must be met at a minimum: Frequencies from 500 kHz to 4 MHz, Range of 150 cm, up to 10 m below 2MHz depending on options, Transmission rate of 128 Hz max pulse rate for each frequency (i.e 512 pulses per second for four), subject to acoustic range limits. Minimum rate 1Hz for calibration, Software: AQUAtalk for AQUAscat for logger interaction and AQUAscat toolkit for data processing or equivalent, Sediment range size between 20µm to 500 µm, Able to be deployed in a Lab Flume Setting. USACE intends to issue this requirement under NAICS code 334511 – 334511 Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance Aeronautical and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing, Size Standard:1250 Employees. No solicitation is available at this time. No phone calls are being accepted as a result of the Sources Sought Notice. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of industry to compete and provide the supplies under a contract. The type of solicitation and contract to be issued will depend upon the responses to these sources sought synopsis. Note: In order to be eligible for award of a government contract, vendors must be actively registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), have no active exclusions, and complete the FAR and DFARS representations and certifications. This source sought notice for High Frequency Acoustic Suspended Sediment Profiler shall not be considered as an invitation for bid, request for proposal, or an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. Your response to this notice will be treated as information only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs will arise as a result of contractor submissions of responses to this announcement.
