The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to issue an award on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)) to TA Instruments-Waters L.L.C., 159 Lukens Drive, Newcastle, DE, 19720-2765 for one each Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA 5500), Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA 850), Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC 25), a Discovery Hybrid Rheometer (HR 20) and their related accessories. The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Environmental Laboratory (EL) requires the purchase of the equipment for advanced material analysis, and quality assurance/quality control of materials that are made in house at ERDC for experimental use and publication. Information associated with the use of these instruments will be used to meet deliverables associated with several funded projects along with publication of results in appropriate scientific journals as articles. This supply contract can be met by commercially available equipment. TA Instruments-Waters L.L.C. is the only vendor capable of providing this equipment. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same or similar supply. All capability statements received by the closing date of this publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
