The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to issue an award on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)) to Tech Quip Inc., P.O. Box 3706, Baton Rouge, LA, 70821, for a Niton XL5 Handheld XRF Analyzer. The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Environmental Laboratory (EL) EPP branch requires the purchase of a handheld XRF analyzer for non-destructive analysis of samples in the field and in deployment into non-laboratory settings. This instrument must be handheld, must be compatible with the laboratory’s existing handheld XRF analyzer, must weigh less than 3 pounds and use a 5W x-ray tube. Tech Quip, Inc. is the only vendor capable of providing this equipment. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same or similar supply. All capability statements received by the closing date of this publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
