The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to procure on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1) with California Lightworks, 7949 Deering Ave, Canoga Park, CA 91304, for fifty-six (56) LED plant grow lights designed for humid greenhouse conditions to culture and experiment with plant species and their insect pests under mesocosm-scale (greenhouse tanks) controlled-conditions. Specific characteristics of the requirement that limit the availability to a sole source include the ability to meet the necessary specifications and compatibility in all aspects (form, fit, and function) with existing systems presently installed. The GH Pro340 LT-36V LED light meets the necessary requirements and is a direct replacement for lights currently in use. The GH Pro340 LT-36V is manufactured and sold only by California Lightworks. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b). There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334413 with a Size Standard of 1,250 Employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including price, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same or similar product. All capability statements received by the closing date of this publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
