The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract for the Galveston Harbor and Channel, Texas and Houston Ship Channel, Texas, Galveston Entrance and Bolivar to Redfish, Hopper Dredging in Galveston and Chambers Counties, Texas. Project Information: The work consists of hopper dredging of the Galveston Entrance Channel and adjacent Houston Ship Channel, Bolivar to Redfish Reach. Beneficial use beach placement (pump out) at Babe’s Beach (west of 61st street in Galveston) will be a contract option and will cover the incremental costs related to placing material on the beach in lieu of the offshore disposal maintenance dredging site (ODMDS). Contract options will also be a part of the contract for dredging of the Galveston Harbor. Completion Time: Estimated duration for Schedule 1 is approximately 240 calendar days. Completion time for four options is a total of 90 additional calendar days. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $3,825.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (5) calendar days after award. The contractor shall begin work within (30) calendar days after receipt of the notice to Proceed. The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $25,000,000.00 and $100,000,000.00. The solicitation is advertised as “UNRESTRICTED” full & open competition to both large and small businesses. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard is $30 Million (Dredging). The solicitation will be issued on or about 18 February 2021. Response date will be 22 March 2021. (All bids must be submitted electronically per Section 00 21 00 of the solicitation).
