The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract for the Houston Ship Channel, Texas, Peggy Lake Placement Area Dewatering and Dike Raise in Harris County, Texas, Placement Area Improvements. Project Information: The work consists of Peggy Lake Placement Area Improvements and Dewatering. Approximately 300,000 CY of containment dike raising, 24,000 LF of trenching, and replacing a drop outlet with a new drop outlet structure. Contractor should have experience with dredged material placement areas construction and demonstrate previous contract experience as a Prime Contractor raising dikes of dredged material placement areas, constructing ditches in dredged material placement areas, and rehabilitating or installing drop outlet structures at dredge material placement areas. Contractor should expect to use equipment with low ground pressure due to the soft/wet material in which the equipment will be operating. Contractor should observe conditions associated with Dredged Material Placement Areas. Conditions within the placement area are typically very wet. Completion Time: Schedule No. 1 - 530 calendar days. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $3,562.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (3) calendar days after award. The contractor shall begin work within (10) calendar days after receipt of the notice to Proceed. The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation is advertised as "UNRESTRICTED" full & open competition to both large and small businesses. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard is $36.5 Million. The solicitation will be issued on or about 17 July 2019. Response date is 16 August 2019 @ 2:00 PM.
