PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT: This announcement constitutes a pre-solicitation announcement of a proposed contract action pursuant to FAR 5.204. This is not an invitation for bids. No response is requested at this time. An Invitation for Bids (IFB) will follow this announcement with full details, including a response deadline, the complete price proposal schedule, and the construction plans & specifications. OFFERORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THIS WEBSITE FOR CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE AND THE FORMAL SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. PLANNED IFB: The IFB is expected to occur anytime between 15 and 30 days after the posting of this presolicitation. The contract type will be firm-fixed-price. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of furnishing all plant, equipment, labor, transportation, fuel, lubricant, supplies and materials; and performing all operations in connection with placement of stone to repair the Charleston Harbor South Jetty located on Morris Island. The work is located in Charleston County, South Carolina. The work includes complying with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammals Protection Act. MAGNITUDE OF WORK: Between $5,000,000 AND $10,000,000. TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE: This acquisition will be a 100% Total Small Business Set Aside pursuant to FAR 6.203 & FAR 19.502-2. The NAICS Code selected for this acquisition is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, Dredging and Surface Cleanup Activities, which has a size standard of The contractor must be registered in SAM.gov prior to award of the solicitation.
