Amendment 0001 to Presolicitation **THIS PRESOLICITATION IS AMENMDED TO CORRECT THE PROJECT MAGNITUDE** The magnitude for this project is $500,000 - $1,000,000 Purpose of this announcement: This announcement constitutes a Pre-Solicitation announcement of a proposed contract action pursuant to FAR 5.204. This is not an Invitation for Bids. No response is requested at this time. An Invitation for Bids will follow this announcement with full details, including a response deadline, the complete price proposal schedule, and the construction plans & specifications. PLANNED IFB: The final IFB for this project will be announced no sooner than 15 calendar days from the date of the Pre-Solicitation announcement. The contract type will be firm-fixed-price. OFFERORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THIS WEBSITE FOR CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE AND THE INVITATION FOR BIDS ANNOUNCEMENT DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and material for excavating soil material near canals and depositing the soil material into local landfills. Work associated with this effort are gabion basket retaining walls, demolition, earthwork and erosion control. No quantities or construction techniques to be used will be provided to the contractor for proposal development. The contractor is responsible for the development of quantities as he sees necessary to complete the required work. The drawings (to be provided) will show the limits of the construction requirements; contractors can also verify or confirm work quantities needed to develop proposals via the site visits. Dates and times of site visits will be posted in the IFB. The work is located in Sumter, Williamsburg, Dorchester, Berkeley and Charleston Counties. The work includes environmental protection. MAGNITUDE OF WORK: $1,000,000 TO $5,000,000 TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE: This acquisition will be a 100% Total Small Business Set Aside pursuant to FAR 6.203 & FAR 19.502-2. The NAICS Code selected for this acquisition is 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction), which has a size standard of $36.5 million average annual revenue. The contractor must be registered in WWW.SAM.GOV prior to award of the solicitation. The solicitation and any subsequent amendments will only be available in electronic format, down-loadable from the internet off the Federal Business Opportunity Webpage (WWW.FBO.GOV). No CD-ROMS or hard-copy documents will be distributed. All documents will be posted at the WWW.FBO.GOV Webpage. It is the responsibility of the bidders to monitor the website for notices and amendments. A PREBID CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD VIA TELECONFERENCE AT A TIME AND DATE TO BE DETERMINED.
