Tybee Island Shoreline Protection Project

Notice ID:W912HN27BA001

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is conducting market research to identify contractors capable of performing the Tybee Island Shoreline Protection Project on Tybee Island, Chatham County, Georgia. The project involves periodic beach renourishment along up to about 14,900 feet of Front Beach and South Tip Beach using up to approximately 1,500,000 cubic yards of beach-quality sand from an offshore borrow area roughly 8,000 to 20,000 feet away, including cutter suction dredging, hydraulic transport, placement, grading, environmental compliance, and tilling. The estimated construction magnitude is $10,000,000 to $25,000,000, and small-business dredging respondents must anticipate performing at least 40 percent of the dredged volume with qualifying equipment. Environmental restrictions limit beach placement to November 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027, with construction currently anticipated from late December 2026 to late March/early April 2027 within an anticipated 90-calendar-day construction period. Interested firms are asked to provide information on interest and availability, Tybee-specific dredge capability, relevant experience, bonding capacity, and industry feedback for the FY27 project.
