The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Directive 7512 established policy regarding the seismic safety of VA buildings. VA is committed to providing life-safety protection to Veterans, employees, and other building occupants in all facilities. In addition, facilities identified as critical and essential must meet additional requirements to remain in operation after a seismic event. Ancillary VA facilities must be life-safety protected. The design standards used for upgrading the facilities are the VA TIL Seismic Design Requirements (H-18-8). A non-structural evaluation was conducted for all buildings in this complex and a building structural analysis was performed for six buildings. *** This sources sought is seeking responses to the attached questionaire. The questionaire specifically addresses knowledge of VA regulations, local building regulation knowledge/experience in Puerto Rico, structural seismic deficiency reconstruction experience and bonding capability.
