Sale of Scrap Lead Acid Batteries
The Sierra Army Depot in California is selling approximately 42,000 lbs. of scrap lead-acid vehicle batteries, which must be removed within 30 days of the sales agreement. The contractor is responsible for all freight costs and must pay prior to removal. The contractor must also agree to remove less-than-truckload quantities as available and handle all hazardous waste transportation and documentation in compliance with California regulations. Removal is scheduled at the depot's Hazardous Waste Facility during specific morning and early afternoon hours, Monday through Thursday. The contractor is obligated to check for and remove any additional available batteries at six months and one year after the initial removal.
