Sierra Army Depot is conducting market research for a custom fitted white polyester tarpaulin based on the minimum (NSN: 5895-01-654-3641), tarpaulin requirements. Minimum Tarpaulin Requirements: Custom fit white polyester waterproof UV resistant cover. Please see attached drawing Layout 1 & 2 (sheets 1 & 2 of 7) and associated drawings. The size of the main tarpaulin cover shall be 258” x 268”. The main tarpaulin has twelve (12) 1” wide x 46” long Inch Ratchet Strap Tie Down Double J Hook, 1,000 # breaking strength (6) on each side. Each strap will hook on the (H) beam frame under the machine. Place according to Straps Locations, sheet 3 of 7. The two (2) side flaps are cut out of 146” X 132” tarpaulin. On each end flaps attach three (3) 1” wide x 25” long Ratchet Strap Tie Down Double J Hook, 1,000 # breaking strength. Locations, sheet 3 of 7. All straps shall be attached a minimum of twelve (12) inches either by welding or stitching. 1” diameter metal grommet shall be install on the edge as shown on Grommet Locations drawing 4 of 7. A total of thirty one (31) grommets are needed. In four (4) locations, the edges created by folding out material shown on sheet 2 of 7. Creased areas must be sawn (optional), or if left folded, must face down to prevent holding water or accumulating debris. The tarpaulin will require, on the underside of tarp; two (2) 16”W x 104L , and one (1) 16”W x 240L reinforced section welded (approximately 60 mil O.A.) on the tarp. The reinforcement to be welded to tarpaulin. See Wear Strips sheet 6 of 7. In the center of the outside16” reinforcements, attached one (1) 1” wide x 221” long polyester webbing with 2 carabiner placement locations specified on Carabiner Location drawing (sheet 7 of 7). Any stitching, welding, sewn seams, sewn hems and attached closures and fasteners considered in the design must be waterproofed to prevent leakage. All materials must be Berry Amendment Compliant. At this time, Sierra Army Depot is NOT looking for proposals or quotes. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. This Sources Sought does not constitute an Invitation for Bid, Request for Proposal or Request for Quote and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
