General: This scope of work provides detail for acquisition of Garbage Removal Services for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Pokegama Dam & Recreation Area. This contract consists of the acquisition of garbage services by the Corps with a base contract period of 1 year and with subsequent option periods for 4 years. Project Location: Pokegama Dam & Recreation Area is located 2 miles west of Grand Rapids, Minnesota off of State Highway 2 on the Mississippi River in Itasca County. Garbage Dumpsters: The Contractor shall supply and maintain 2 four yard garbage dumpsters with lids in good working condition. Garbage Container Location: One of the dumpsters shall be placed in the east end of the campground near the dump station and the other dumpster shall be placed in the northwest corner of the office parking lot. Both dumpsters shall be placed in the same location as the existing dumpsters. Service Hours: All dumpsters shall be emptied between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Days of Service During Peak Season: From 01 May through 31 October both dumpsters shall be emptied twice per week. The dumpsters shall be emptied either on Mondays and Thursdays or Tuesdays and Fridays of each week. Days of Service During Non-Peak Season: From 01 November through 30 April only the dumpster located in the northwest corner of the office parking lot shall be emptied twice (2) per week. Damages: The Contractor shall be responsible for notifying the Park Ranger of any damages to Government property that is related to the work under this contract. Notification shall be within 24 hours of discovery of damages.
