This is a pre-solicitation notice and not a request for quotes, bids, or proposals. The purpose of this is to give industry a heads-up that a requirement will be forthcoming. A solicitation will be posted that includes further requirement specifications and contract terms and conditions. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), St. Paul District has a requirement for a contractor to provide hose to be used to conduct dredge slurry from the suction mouth to the dredge pump of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dredge Goetz. The hose is intended to provide the flexure necessary to raise and lower the ladder that the suction mouth is connected to. The dredge suction hose has an internal diameter of 22 inches. This procurement will include delivery to the Fountain City Service Base located in Fountain City, WI on or before February 1, 2023. It is estimated that this project will be solicited either this week, or within the next week. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project will be 326220, Rubber and Plastics Hoses and Belting Manufacturing with a size standard of 750 employees. The resulting contract shall be a Firm, Fixed-Price contract. The solicitation shall be a Total Small Business set-aside. The solicitation will be a request for quote. The following is a brief description of the product specifications. They will be further defined in the forthcoming solicitation. Hose Specifications: • Quantity: 1 • 22” ID x 72 inches long • Full vacuum operating pressure • Built-in steel reinforced flanges on both ends • W/extra heavy build ups & extra internal end blocks • Wire reinforced • 1” thick black natural rubber tube • Protective packing for hose protection Flanges: • 20 Hole • 29-1/2” BDC • 32”O.D. • 1 ¼” thick • 1-1/4” Hole size This synopsis is not a request for quotes, proposals, or bids. The specifications will be detailed in the solicitation.
