The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - St. Paul District requires a contractor to make repairs to the M/V Butler, a 55' 10" long, triple-screw push boat. The repairs will require the vessel to be dry dock... The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - St. Paul District requires a contractor to make repairs to the M/V Butler, a 55' 10" long, triple-screw push boat. The repairs will require the vessel to be dry docked. The contractor shall be responsible for the transport of the Butler from Lock & Dam 7 – La Crescent, MN (UMRM 702.5) to a dry dock, and the return of the vessel to LD7 when repairs are complete. The vessel will be available on December 4, 2020. Vessel shall be returned no later than 19 March 2021. Contractor is not permitted to operate vessel under its own power. Repairs include (but are not limited to): ? Remove flanking and steering rudders and replace bearings ? Remove all three 4 blade propellers and replace with Government supplied propellers ? Remove all 3 propeller shafts, inspect wear sleeves, replace 2 with Government supplied shafts, repack all stuffing boxes ? Inspect all tiller, jock bar and hydraulic steering cylinder pins and bushings for wear ? Inspect Strut Supports for fractures ? Inspect the steering rudder shoes for defects and fractures ? Replace lower steering rudder cutlass bearings mounted to shoes ? Straighten rudder deflections ? Remove all 3 engine coolers from vessel, supply 3 Fernstrum grid coolers, fabricate new cooler pockets to fit, fabricate new cooler protection guards for all three engines, reconnect coolant piping from engines to coolers ? Add 8 additional hull anodes ? Reassemble entire underwater running gear ? Water blast and paint exterior hull This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside solicitation.
