The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), St. Paul District has a requirement for replacement Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s) to be installed on the Dredge Goetz. Work includes but is not limited to removing the existing system and supplying, installing, programming, commissioning and testing the new VFD system. The work will be completed on the dredge at or near the Fountain City Service Base (FCSB) in Fountain City, Wisconsin (Buffalo County). The Dredge Goetz is a hydraulic cutter suction dredge with a 22 inch suction and 20 inch discharge pipe. The dredge is 225 feet long by 39 feet wide with an operating draft of 5 feet. The dredge is powered using diesel-electric generator engines that produce a total of 4,000 horsepower at 1,200 rpm. Each generator is capable of producing 1,300 KVA at an 80% continuous duty cycle. This procurement is unrestricted; full and open competition. This synopsis is not a request for quotes or proposals. This is a notice that a solicitation for a competitive acquisition for the award of one firm-fixed price contract is intended to be issued via FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) in the near future. The specifications will be detailed in the solicitation once issued. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Quotes will be due approximately 14 days from the date the solicitation is issued, however, the 14 day time frame is an estimate and subject to change. The definitive quote due date and time will be stated in the solicitation and any associated amendments that may be issued. No CD's or hard copies will be available.
