This project is located in Pool 10 of the Upper Mississippi River near Guttenberg, Iowa. The project consists of transferring approximately 125,000 cubic yards of stockpiled dredge material from McMillan Island dredge material placement site to Buck Creek placement site. Buck Creek is an upland placement site located approximately 2.2 miles from McMillan Island. The McMillan Island dredge material placement site is an island without road access, that has historically been used for placement of material dredged from the main channel of the Mississippi River. McMillan Island is located at River Mile 618.7, about 3 miles north of Guttenberg. Hydraulic transfer methods are the only approved method. The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990, w ith a small business size standard of $39,500,000. This solicitation is being issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and is UNRESTRICTED. Both sites are Government-owned, and located in Upper Mississippi River Pool 10, north of Guttenberg, Iowa. McMillan Island is an island, without road access, located at UMRM 618.7. The site is loaded with dredged material from the main river channel. The Buck Creek site is an upland placement site, located approximately 2.2 miles downstream. There is an estimated 126,000 CY of material to be moved. Due to geographic and environmental conditions, unloading operations from McMillan Island to Buck Creek are limited to hydraulic means only. Mechanical dredging is not allowed. The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990, with a Small Business Size Standard of $39,500,000.
