A total of 30 chains are required. The steel alloy lifting chain will be used for hoisting 11 tainter gates at Lock & Dam 2 (gates 1?11) on the Mississippi River. Two chains per gate (22 chains) as well as an additional spare set (2 chains) shall be provided. The contractor shall also supply lifting chain for 3 additional tainter gates (6 chains). One pair of chains for Lock & Dam 2 (gates 12?19), one pair for Lock & Dam 4, and one pair for Lock & Dam 5. Lock & Dam 2 (gates 1?11) use 1.25” chain, while Lock & Dam 2 (gates 12?19), Lock & Dam 4, and Lock & Dam 5 use 1.5” chain. The 30 individual chain lengths shall be of standard commercial quality manufactured as non?calibrated chain and shipped as 15 matched pairs. SEE SCOPE OF WORK
