The dry dock sank on 31 May 2019 with the port wing wall 100% submerged. The salvaging process is now complete and the dry dock can be towed and repaired. The solicitation requires the contractor to tow Dry Dock 5801 from Ensley Engineer Yard in Memphis, TN to a shipyard that has a dry dock that is certified for a dry dock that is 320' long x 106' wide with a pontoon depth of 8', wing walls with a height of 18' above the pontoons, and weighing an estimated 1651 long tons when empty; make required repairs, and tow the dry dock back to Ensley Engineer Yard. The contractor is required to provide all supplies/services to satisfy this requirement for the USACE Memphis District. Supplies/Services to be procured under this announcement are classified in North American Industry Classification System Code as 336611, Ship Building and Repairing. The SBA size standard is 1,250 employees. The attached solicitation number W912EQ-19-Q-0043 is issued as a Request for Quote, (RFQ). The closing date and time for submission of offers will be contained in the solicitation package. The proposed procurement listed herein is advertised as a 100% total Small Business Set Aside. It is the district's intent to award one (1) Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to the qualified business. PROJECT INFORMATION: Contractor shall furnish all supplies, labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and deliveries necessary to tow and repair Dry Dock 5801 in accordance with the specifications for delivery to US Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District Ensley Engineering Yard, 2915 Riverport Rd Memphis, TN 38109 Mississippi River Mile 725 A.H.P. for final delivery. AutoCAD drawings of the dry dock are not practical for posting to FBO but are available upon request.
