DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project consists of maintenance dredging the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) channel, settling basins, and advance maintenance areas in the waters of Sawpit Creek, the Amelia River, and Nassau Sound. The majority of the excavated material will be placed in the Amelia Island State Park beach disposal site. The pumping distance between dredging areas and beach placement ranges from 4.0 miles to 1.5 miles. The remainder of the material is not beach compatible and will be placed upland in DMMA DU-2 which lies adjacent to the dredging area. The project will have an estimated period of performance of 195 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The stated time is inclusive of 60 calendar days to commence work and will be divided into base work and three options as follows: Base (including commencement and demobilization): 195 calendar days. Base work includes maintenance dredging of IWW Cut-23 to Cut-27C, West Settling Basin, and Advanced Maintenance Area (AMA)-A down to a depth of 12-foot plus 2-foot allowable overdepth. Option A: 25 calendar days. Option A consists of maintenance dredging of AMA-B, AMA-C, and East Settling Basin down to depths of 10-foot plus 2-foot allowable overdepth and 12 foot plus 2-foot allowable overdepth. Option B: 10 calendar days. Option B consists of maintenance dredging of AMA-D and South Settling Basin down to depths of 10-foot plus 2-foot allowable overdepth and 12-foot plus 2-foot allowable overdepth. Option C: 10 calendar days. Option C consist of maintenance dredging of North Settling Basin to a depth of 12-foot plus 2-foot allowable overdepth. The Estimated Magnitude of construction is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on or about February 29, 2024 and bids will be due on or about April 2nd, 2024. Magnitude of construction is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. NOTE: NAICS code 237990—Dredging: To be considered small for purposes of Government procurement, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 237990, Dredging and Surface Cleanup Activities. The Small Business Size Standard for this project is $37.0 million.
