The Advantech equipment will be used for upgrading the existing hardwired lightboxes at McNary Powerhouse. The Advantech equipment will replace the existing hardwired lightboxes and be installed on the S-Board and in the control room under a separate construction contract. At the same time as the Powerhouse Control Upgrades project, McNary will also be upgrading the existing main unit electromechanical governors to digital governors. A separate digital governor supply contract was awarded to American Governor Company (AGC), and the construction contract has been combined with the Powerhouse Control Upgrade project. With both the governor and annunciator HMIs being Advantech HMIs, maintenance practices will become more efficient due to consistency. The proposed Advantech devices and software have similar maintenance requirements as Advantech Governor equipment and would require less time to institute and maintain.
