The Department of Defense (DoD) is responsible for environmental cleanup and restoration of properties formerly under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of Defense and owned by, leased to, or otherwise possessed by the United States at the time of actions leading to contamination by hazardous substances. These properties are known as Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS). The work required under this Performance Work Effort falls under the Defense Environmental Restoration Program – FUDS (DERP-FUDS). The FUDS Program performs chemical sampling and analysis at FUDS to direct clean-up decisions and planning for properties and projects. This data is processed and reviewed via the external FUDSChem system, accessible to Contractors. The EChem system, a module of the FUDS Portal, is the official repository of the final chemical data for FUDS. The mission of this work effort is to supply data of a known quality to EChem.
