The New York District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is preparing plans and specifications for Rockaway Contract 3 ADA crossovers in the Borough of Queens, New York City. The work includes nine elevated timber pedestrian crossover structures providing ADA beach access at Beach 147th, 142nd, 135th, 131st, 67th, 44th, 17th, 13th, and 11th streets, plus sand fence and dune vegetation; options cover aluminum railings/handrails, reinforced plastic lumber decking, and removal of 19 timber groins. The truss deck spans approximately 44 feet over the dune crest with landward and seaward ramps of varying lengths. Award is projected for November/December 2026, with an estimated duration of about 18 months or 550 calendar days. Construction cost is in the range of $10,000,000 to $25,000,000.
