Maintenance Dredging of NY & NJ Channels, Arthur Kill 35’ Reach, Federal Navigation Project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes maintenance dredging of the Arthur Kill 35’ Reach in New York and New Jersey, removing approximately 150,000 cubic yards of material for placement at a contractor-provided upland site. The work must be performed using a mechanical clamshell dredge with an environmental bucket, supported by barges and tugboats, and is anticipated to take place in the summer/fall of 2026. The contract has an estimated magnitude between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. Upon award, the contractor must commence work within five calendar days of notice and maintain a production rate of at least 2,500 cubic yards per calendar day. All work must comply with federal, state, and local environmental and safety criteria at the dredging and placement locations.
