Maintenance Dredging of NY & NJ Channels, Seguine/Ward/Outerbridge Reaches, Federal Navigation Project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes maintenance dredging of the Seguine/Ward/Outerbridge channels in New York and New Jersey, placing approximately 330,000 cubic yards of material at the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS). The work is estimated to cost between $5,000,000 and $15,000,000. Upon award, work must commence within five calendar days and maintain a production rate of at least 8,000 cubic yards per day. The government intends to award the contract in late June 2026, with the work anticipated to occur between September and December 2026. The work will likely require a mechanical dredge with an environmental clamshell bucket, along with supporting vessels.
