Maintenance Dredging of New York and New Jersey Channels – Arthur Kill 35’ Reach, Federal Navigation Project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks a contractor for maintenance dredging of the Arthur Kill 35’ Reach in New York and New Jersey, removing approximately 150,000 cubic yards of material to a depth of -35 feet MLLW plus 1 foot overdepth. Work requires a mechanical dredge with an environmental clamshell bucket, plus barges and tugboats, with dredged material placed at a contractor-furnished, state-permitted upland site. The contractor must provide all necessary permits within 35 calendar days of being notified as the apparent low bidder, and commence work within five calendar days of notice to proceed, maintaining a production rate of at least 2,500 cubic yards per day. The project is estimated to cost between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000, with performance anticipated between October and December 2026. Liquidated damages of $3,230 per calendar day of delay will apply.
