The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District proposes to place on sale approximately 362,000 CY of clean material for sale from containment cell A.1, for beneficial reuse. The material, consisting of mixture of sand, gravel and silt, meets NYS DEC requirements for unrestricted use (see attached General Vicinity Map). All excavated material will be conveyed from the designated areas within Area A and transported off-shore to the contractor’s site for processing and distribution, in accordance with the contractor’s approved work plan. The purpose of this material-harvesting is to offer the existing clean material for beneficial reuses, while creating capacity at the Houghtaling Island DMPS for the continued upland placement of material at the site. After removal of the material, the containment cell will be restored to project specifications by the contractor, including final site stabilization. Plans and specifications will be available at the time of bid.
