Note 1: Amendment 0001 posted as of 17 August 2022. Note 2: Amendment 0002 posted as of 22 August 2022. Note 3: Amendment 0003 posted as of 23 August 2022. The New York District Army Corps of Engineers is issuing this Firm Fixed Price Request For Proposal for the design and construction for expansion of the concrete helicopter parking ramp at Fort Drum, NY. Project demolishes an existing concrete landing pad (approximately 1,455 SY), removes existing apron asphalt shoulder and edge lighting, constructs 8 additional concrete helicopter parking spaces (approx. 30,000 SY), installs new 25 ft-wide asphalt shoulder and edge lighting along the new parking spaces perimeter, installs new airfield pavement markings connected to the existing parking apron, installs parking space mooring and grounding points, installs airfield pavement joints and sealant, replaces surface utility access covers with airfield rated ones or relocates them, and installs a storm water infiltration basin with NYS hotspot pre-treatment. Project will follow airfield pavement design and construction UFC’s and the guidance detailed in the Sustainable Design and Development Policy. Bidders should have experience with airfield pavement designs and getting airfield asphalt and concrete designs approved by the Transportation Support Center in Omaha, NE. Bidders should also have experience working on active airfields and designing NYS stormwater hotspot pre-treatment for refueling operations. This acquisition is being solicited as Full and Open Competition.
