Upper Wicomico River Dredging Project, Wicomico County, MD
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, will complete maintenance dredging in the upper half of the Wicomico River in Wicomico County, MD, with material placed at the existing Sharps Point upland placement site in Salisbury, MD. The work includes hydraulic dredging and pipeline removal of approximately 250,000 cubic yards of silts, sand, clays, mixed shell, gravel, and other materials to an authorized depth of 14 feet. Minor construction of two weir boxes at the placement site will occur before dredging operations. The estimated construction magnitude is $4,000,000.00 to $8,000,000.00. Construction is expected to take approximately 120 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.
