Debris Boom Supply and Install at Harry S. Truman Lake Project
The contractor must furnish a complete debris boom system at Harry S. Truman Dam to intercept floating debris upstream of the spillway and protect the tainter gates, while also serving as a visual barrier for boaters. The approximately 2,000-foot boom must be engineered, fabricated, delivered, and optionally installed, with design support for an 800-foot-long by 3-foot-thick debris field. It must withstand site-specific hydraulic, wind, wave, debris, and impact loads, including a direct head-on impact from an 18-inch-diameter, 100-foot-long log at maximum design water velocity, 50 mph winds, and 5-foot waves, using a minimum safety factor of 2.0. This is a full and open, unrestricted acquisition not set aside for small business. An organized site visit is scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11 a.m.
