Pre-Solicitation Notice – W912DQ23R4017 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Kansas City District intends to issue a Design-Bid-Build solicitation for a single Firm Fixed-Price, construction contract for repair the natural gas distribution system at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The solicitation is expected to be available on or about May 24, 2023, on the Federal website at SAM.gov. A tentative site visit is scheduled for early June. Requirement is to perform repairs and improvements to the natural gas system at Fort Leavenworth, to include: installing approximately 1-1/4 miles of new 12-inch natural gas main by open trench, horizontal directional drilling, and boring; construct a new city gate adjacent to the Visitor Control Center; replace 3 pressure reducing valves; and either repair the existing meter / odorizer station OR construct a new meter/odorizer station at the existing city gate to use as a back-up (mutually exclusive options). The contractor will be responsible for all coordination with, and payment of all costs for, design and construction associated with this project by Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline for the connection of the new city gate to the Southern Star main lines as well as the changes needed at the existing city gate. Hot taps of various sizes of natural gas lines will be required. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237120, (Oil and Gas Pipeline and Related Structures Construction). The estimated magnitude of this project between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The estimated performance period for completion of construction is 540 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
