INTRODUCTION The U.S. Army Regional Contracting Office (RCO) in Fort Wainwright, Alaska is issuing this sources sought as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources necessary to support the requirement for Refuse disposal in the vicinity of Fairbanks Alaska, Fort Greely, Donnelly Training Area, Yukon Training Area, and JBER Area. The intent is to procure this service on a competitive basis using a single award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 562111 (Solid Waste Collection) with a Small Business Size Standard of $38.5 Million. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to respond; however, each respondent must clearly identify their business size in their capabilities statement. REQUIRED CAPABILITIES Each Contractor shall provide refuse removal, throughout the state of Alaska, for USARAK's exercise/operational needs. The majority of the requirements will be at the following locations: Fort Wainwright, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Yukon Training Area, Donnelly Training Area and Fort Greely. In addition to refuse removal, the contractor will also be expected to provide trash receptacles ranging in size from 4-8 cubic yards (CY), 20 CY, and 40 CY. The dumpsters will be used primarily for refuse, however, on occasion the government does have a requirement for human waste disposal due to remote locations. The purpose is to conduct market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice will be used by the Government to make an appropriate acquisition decision. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this notice. This sources sought amendment is to determine who is able to do at least 51% of the work, which will help to determine if this need is to be solicited as a 100% small business set-aside or if it should be solicited as full and open.
