The Government intends to solicit and negotiate a contract (Solicitation Number: W56HZV-24-R-0070, Release Date: October 2024) to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), General Dynamics Land Systems Inc. (GDLS), Cage Code: 7W356, on a sole source basis for seven years under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(ii)&(iii)(A), there is only one responsible source, and no other suppliers or services will satisfy the agency requirements. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The seven-year contract will be a hybrid Cost type contract for an Abrams Tank Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) resulting in a new variant of the existing Abrams Main Battle Tank called the Abrams M1E3. This effort will include the mobility, survivability, and lethality centric enhancements.
