The USACE requires operation of a groundwater extraction and treatment system to control and remediate impacted groundwater at the Price Landfill Superfund site in Absecon, New Jersey. The system, which began operating in 2013, includes a treatment plant and a well field of 13 shallow and 4 deep extraction wells, plus over 100 monitoring wells. A sinkhole has been observed on Showellton Avenue at the location of a former soil boring near two monitoring wells.
