It is the intent of the USACE Philadelphia to use this information for market research purposes only. The survey is being conducted to determine the interest of industry within NAICS code 336611, and to establish that there are adequate large and/or small business contractors for providing the marine work described below. The Government WILL NOT pay for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of any such information. If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via Federal Business Opportunities (http:www.fbo.gov). The Philadelphia District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to perform shipyard repairs to the Dredge McFARLAND. Principal Characteristics of the McFARLAND: • Official Number 7739856 • Length without Boom Overhang 300 feet • Length with Boom Overhang 319 feet - 8 inches • Length Between Perpendiculars 284 feet • Beam Molded 72 feet • Depth Amidships, molded 33 feet • Draft Aft 19 feet • Draft Forward 15 feet • Registered Gross Tonnage 6,036 long tons • Displacement Tonnage 9,720 long tons • Lightship Displacement 4,007 long tons The vessel carries a U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection, and an American Bureau of Shipping International Load Line Certificate. The repairs to be performed include the following: • Drydocking • Utilities and Services • Hull Blasting and Painting • Steel Replacement • Hopper Door Repairs • Dredge Pump Repairs • Sea Valve Inspection • Rebuilding of Dredging Valves • Drag arm Repairs • CPP System Repairs • Rudder and Steering Gear Repairs • Engine Rebuilding Bid bond and payment and performance bond (range estimated 5-10M) will be required.
