This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for INFORMATION & MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. This IS NOT a request for proposals, quotations, or bids. Responses to this request will not be returned. Not responding to this sources sought does not preclude participation in any future and potential solicitation. It is the intent of the USACE Philadelphia to use this information for market research purposes only. The survey is being conducted to determine the interest of industry within NAICS code 336611, and to establish that there are adequate large and/or small business contractors for providing the marine work described below. The Government WILL NOT pay for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of any such information. If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via Federal Business Opportunities (http:www.fbo.gov). The Philadelphia District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to perform shipyard repairs to the Mooring Barge No. 2. Principal Characteristics of the Mooring Barge No. 2: • Overall Length 260 feet -2 inches • Overall Beam (without fenders) 60 feet -0 inches • Overall Beam (with fenders down) 80 feet - 8 inches • Depth Amidships, molded 10 feet -2 inches • Normal Draft Aft 2 feet -10 inches • Normal Draft Forward 3 feet -7 inches • Displacement, Loaded 1845 long tons • Bridge Clearance - With Tripod 76 feet -5 inches • Bridge Clearance - Without Tripod 42 feet -11 inches The repairs to be performed include the following: • Drydocking • Utilities and Services • Hull Blasting and Painting • Steel Replacement • Spud Lifting • Ball Joint and Flap Valve Repairs Bid bond and payment and performance bond (range estimated 3-5M) will be required.
