This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This IS NOT a REQUEST for PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, or BIDS. Responses to this request will not be returned. Not responding to this sources sought does not preclude participation in any future and potential solicitation. It is the intent of the Contracting Office to use this information for market research purposes only. The survey is being conducted to determine the interest of industry within NAICS codes #336611, and establish that there are adequate Large and/or Small Business (HUBZONE 8(a) or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business) contractors for constructing a new, dock barge for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District. The Government WILL NOT pay for the provision of any information, nor will it compensate any respondents for the development of any such information. If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via the Federal Business Opportunities (http:www.fbo.gov). The requirement is to acquire one welded steel flat deck barge to serve the Kansas City District. The barge will be used in support of the civil works maintenance and repair mission operations on the Missouri River. The Dock Barge is a work barge that will provide a mobile loading dock for material transport barges. It will be used at various stages of the Missouri River, facilitating delivery of rock, sand, and aggregates. The barge shall be classed by ABS, "Maltese Cross A-1 Barge, River Service with Reinforcement B notation. The vessel to be procured under this solicitation will be a replacement of the current dock barge for the Kansas City District. The barge to be provided as part of the forth coming solicitation will be based on an as-built design, with the design being updated to reflect changes for the district's operation. Dock Barge Requirements: The barge will have the following principle dimensions: Length Overall (Molded) 196'-0" Beam (Molded) 35'-0" Breadth (Overall, Loading Ramp Raised) 46'-0" Depth (Molded) 11'-0" Deck Flat Barge ends Raked The barge shall have a loading ramp, bridge deck assembly structure, winch control house, deck house, and a total of eleven (11) winches, to include: Eight (8) deck winches, Two (2) loading ramp winches, And one (1) spud winch. Underneath the deck, the barge shall include a space for a workshop, machinery spaces, CO2 room, and equipment storage. The barge will also include the following complete systems: fuel oil, bilge, fire extinguishing, AC/DC electrical, and HVAC. Delivery of the barge will be to US Army Corps of Engineers - Kansas City District, Gasconade Harbor Facility, 1502 Corps Rd., Gasconade, Missouri 65036 There will be Liquidated Damages associated with this procurement. Bonding will be required. Contractor is expected to deliver this requirement approximately 560 calendar days after notice to proceed (NTP).
